Hi. I'm from Texas but I go often New Orleans. I'm thinking that I should get a non-resident fishing license vs a one day license. Is lake pontchartrain considered fresh water or saltwater? I'd really like to catch something there but have no idea where to go to bank fish. Thanks for any help.

The easy answer is what do ya like to fish for? you can go to the river sit on the bank and throw out a hand line for catfish and catch monsters. just gp south a lil to get out of town so ya dont get hassled by gaulkers.
