Liked the video... don't know Chris Ginn... but he mentioned Howard Beetz, the wife's nephew....

This is my brother Tommy with a 7 1/2 from Caney

[Linked Image]

The fish looks small but Tommy was near 300 pounds...

We looked at couple of places on Caney once... Mosquitoes were rough that summer... clouds of them.. couldn't even go outside of the houses to look at the property... but, I guess they come and go...

Caney is a good looking lake... hope the grass comes back full force

the armadilla....

Armadilla, we are going to start looking for a place somewhere in north Louisiana for a camp in a little while. I thought I wanted to buy a place on Caney until I drove around it this year. It's been about 20 years since I'd been anywhere near it and "way back when" my parents had a place there it wasn't nearly as populated as it is today. I was all on fire to at least buy a lot in the next year or so but now I'm having second thoughts because it is just to crowded for my taste. I'll keep it on my list of places I would like to live but it's not in the #1 position anymore. May have to look @ D'arbonne, Claiborne, Black Lake, or Bisteneau. If you look at a place and the mosquitos are bad more than likely they have standing water very near. Mosquitos don't reproduce in water with fish for obvious reasons but they love anything that will hold water. They say they won't migrate much more than 30 yards from where they hatch and generally you can really thin them out just by getting rid of anything around a place that will hold water including mud holes.......

Okay I found it, just south of Ruston. Road trip in the works, well, it's not really that far over there.

Skeeter190, the lake is going to start producing DD fish pretty regular now and may produce another state record soon. It has produced 4 so far.....It is really starting to recover from being eaten naked of vegetation by all the sterile grass carp the state over reacted and over stocked because they are hitting the end of their life cycle and dying off.......I always called it "The other Lake Fork" and I think it is about to start living up to that reputation again..........
