Get a swamp burger at the Swamp Room on Veterans Blvd in Meterie, LA if you ever go through there.

Huge patty and graded sharp cheddar cheese loaded with all the fixins.

Come to think of it, try Port of Call, in New Orleans. Damn strong competition.

Whataburger is only in the Shreveport area. Wish they would migrate a little further south!

We have a Whataburger in Baton Rouge, as well. The best one that I know of is at Mason's grill in BR. There cajun shrimp burger was voted one of the 50 best by The Food Network.

CheeBurger CheeBurger in Shreveport on Youree Drive in front of the Super Target makes a pretty good burger. You can get it fixed any way you want it with a lot of different trimmings. And if memory serves me correctly (haven't been that way in a while) they come in size from a 1/4 lber. all the way up to 1 lb.

There used to be a Teddy Bear burger that originated in Shreveport (I think) and they opened one in Monroe but all are closed now as far as I know. They had the best burgers I can ever remember eating out. Sure miss them.

Teddy Bears had great burgers and curly fries...... that was a while back.

Fat Burgers on Youree Dr. also does a good burger.

I agree with both of those selections. I have to add The Beachcorner at the end of canal st by the cemetary.

Cheeburger and Fatburger make some pretty good hamburgers. In my opinion the best hamburger I have ever eaten came from Plain Dealing, La at a place called Giles Snack Shop.

You guys arent going to believe this, but one of the best burgers in the Shreveport area is served at Trejo's Mexican Restaurant on youree drive at the old Kon-Tiki location. I'm serious. He uses a big chunk of angus beef with just enough fat content to make it tasty.

The other place is Checkers in Sulphur, LA, just north of I-10 on 27. I stop there every time I go fishing in Big Lake. They are open late too.

If any of you guys are in Lafayette toward the end of May, every year there is a burger cookoff in River Ranch to benefit MS. For only $5 you can eat a whole lot of burgers!

I went to the cookoff this year, and I took some video of it if your interested.

Teddy Bears on Barksdale Blvd. was the very best. It set the standard for burgers in my opinion. Too bad they're gone.

On average, your heart beats 100,000 times a day. One day, one of those heartbeats will be your last. Then what?

The answer is found in Jesus Christ who said "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10
