Nahhh other folks walk round the block for exercise and ride their mowers. I prefer to get 2 things done at once cut my grass and get a work out at the same time.

Yesterday we went to Cleg's nursery and bought 150 $ worth of stuff to stick in the ground. Being a country boy half of the stuff will hopefully pay us back among the flowers and bushes I picked up 4 muscadyne vines, 2 replacement blue berry bushes and I picked up 4 cayenne pepper bushes that were marked way down to sell.

There has been a bunch of thieves hitting trucks parked at landings around here one local boat launching spot is remote and gets hit often. It's sad.

Our big freezer burnt up so it was a scramble we threw some stuff out moved stuff into the freezer in the camper and repacked the freezer in the house. Looks like its sausage making time.

Had a similar thing happen to me years ago. Made the sausage in the living room to keep the flies off the meat and keep it from spoiling as fast. Had to basically cook the sausage in the smoke house at 185*F for about an hour with a lot of smoke then pulled it out and bagged it straight to the freezer.

It's a miracle and all I can figure it got hot and locked up and quit. we let it sit and I was ready to haul it out to da road when Peg said awhhhh plug it back and see what happens. an hour later it had dropped 20 degrees and this morning its froze again. Mean time I got 20lbs of pork thawed out so might as well get out the grinder and go to making sausage my buddy Sam is Smoking sunday and said he has some room so its a good time to go head and do it. It seems we cleaned out the house freezer, cleaned out the big freezer, and stocked the camper freezer and once the big freezer compressor cooled it started working again. Not a bad turn of events. Only bad aprt of the whole deal is when I pulled the freezer from the wall under the carport I discovered a wasp nest. Scared me but I didn't get stung.

Peg and I were planning to head to Lowes and get a new one we had decided to get a chest type this time. The door aint gonna be accidentally left or bumped open on dat one with gravity helping ya out. We got the upright frost free one cause Peg is short and has a hard time reaching da bottom of a chest type When she tries i like ta watch cool Dang thing is standing out there at -10 degrees right now I went to the store and bought a new big bag of ice to put in it. Tomorrow it may have a few lbs of smoked sausage 20 lbs of boston butte thawed out. Gona turn dat into a good thing. cheers

In my single days stead of an outside freezer I had an out side beer fridge. then peggy came into my life and the beer fridge doubled as the seafood freezer. Then a storm came. I was at work on a boat and Peggy scared of her first hurricane left and headed north. Electricity off for 10 days or so a freezer full of shrimp fish etc thawed out and rotted. The ole fridge liner had cracked over the years and the stink lingered. So a fridge with a freezer full of rotten fish got put out by da road. I heard a couple loud exclamations as ole guys stopped to see if they wanted it sick

With Peggy home das when we started gardening and jungling up our yard and decided to get a upright freezer for reasons earlier mentioned. The freezer is at least 15 years old we thought we had lost it but its back to freezing again an got cleaned out to boot. Thank the Lord what looked bad for a while is a all around good thing so far.

Took that twin pack took it off da bone and striped it for the grinder seasoned it up with the usual suspects then passed it through the grinder. fried up a couple small test patties and they were good. Next morning I brought it to my buddies out door kitchen we added some pink salt and a couple angry orchard apple ales stuffed it in natural casings and hung it for 4 hours along with his sausage he was smoking. Got it home and stacked in the freezer came up with a lil over 15 lbs of smoked sausage. Since my buddy was smoking anyways mine got smoked for free. I helped him clean up his kitchen and we and a couple beers. All in all the sausage after trimming and deboning cost me right at 1.30 a lb. Beats the Hell outa grocery store prices and ya know exactly what ya got in it none of that hard to pronounce mistry stuff on the store bought labels
