I'm from there originally but got to TX as soon as I could. I try to watch what's going on there on Tv and through relatives who still live there. Last FLW Everstart there was won fishing downriver in an oxbow near Columbia, on left just prior to locks, long run 25 miles or so. D Arbonne creek up river about 6 miles on left is also good. Also try cranking around floating docks and house boats near downtown. Good luck.

BH I grew up there too and have been in Texas since 91. I burned that river up during the 80's and early 90's. I placed and won in a few club tournaments and it usually took 13 to 15 pounds to win. I've seen some of the locals bring in 25 pounds before but I think they were fishing up close to D'arbonne Lake in the bayou and its tributaries.....Most of the pro level tourneys bring in about what I was catching per day which is the 13 to 15 pound stringer. If they ever bring a FLW or BASS tournament to that river I plan to take a shot at it......
I absolutely love the fall bite on that river, I think if you stayed at it and caught them peaked out at feeding a man just might boat 100 in a day.......The last few years I lived there I usually spent opening weekend of deer season on that river.......

Hey lakeway nice post. Noticed there's not much action on this forum, guess those La boys are in the duck blind.

We are trying to get it some legs.....I'm hoping to get me a new bass boat this year and hit the water. I plan to write about my experiences and post them on here. Especially when I come home to fish.......I think that is what this forum really needs. I don't have to give exact locations, just the body of water I fished, time of year, water temp, weather conditions, lures, and presentation. We have a lot of folks cruising this forum but they are just not posting. I think fishing reports from the bayou state would engage a lot more of these folks.......

While not the Ouachita, I can certainly add in a little bit of info on the LFF from the Saline/Larto complex in cenla, as I hear it or experience it. I generally fish it almost every weekend of the month.
