I started my new Nuclear Quality Assurance job at CB&I and am a happy camper. I've been here 5 weeks and the wife will be joining me around the end of Nov. I've fished but mostly scouted around Cameron, Holly Beach and the couple off the road, side of the road stops on 27.

Any and all friendly advice and comments are welcome. I'll probably be at this job the rest of my life. I hope. I have no one to thank but the good Lord. CF?

welcome some great fishing down there. The recreation area off 27 where the water comes thru the gates can be some great fishing. Live shrimp on a small circle hook and small weight. Caught reds, specs, and flounder, croaker, hardheads.

Have caught a ton of bull reds at little fla. Beach and Constance beach. Go past the first store in johnson bayou, just before you get to the second store there is a road on your right, take it till it dead ends, that is deep bayou. Good fishing and crabbing along that road. I prefer live shrimp, but frozen bait shrimp will work. Live mullet or cut mullet in the surf for reds. After a couple days of north wind you can find specs in the surf if the water is clean. Thats fun with a bass rod and popping cork with live shrimp or soft plastics.

Thanks. I haven't found deep bayou rd. yet. I may even hit Sam Houston Jones Park for a catfish or two. My wife visited over this last weekend and she loves it here. After 4 years in Amarillo, who wouldn't. No offense to anybody from Amarillo but I need to fish!

Deep bayou rd. Is down gulf coast highway going towards texas. The bull reds should be in the surf. Cut or whole mullet.

I rent a cabin at redfish haven at Constance beach just west of holly beach, try to get down there a dozen or so times a year. I hate to leave, it is a fishermens paradise down there, between calcasieu lake and sabine.
